The Encyclopedia team visited the governorate of Uyun Al-Jawa to learn more about its landmarks and monuments. The visit included the Heritage Village, Rawd Al-Jawa Mosque, Antarah Rock, Al-Murqab Mosque, and the King Fahd Cultural and Social Complex. They were accompanied on this visit by the Secretary of the Tourism Development Committee in Uyun Al-Jawa Governorate, Mr. Suleiman bin Mohammed Al-Salman. The first stop of the visit was the Heritage Village, which includes the Kuttab School, the Saudi School, the village wall, the old market (Majlis), the old mosque, the old wells and gardens, in addition to the houses and passageways that were restored by the municipality of the governorate. The team listened to a detailed explanation about these components and the historical depth they carry, as the village is over 450 years old. It is considered one of the unique villages in its diversity and its inclusion of all the details of the old Najdi villages, in addition to the resilience of its buildings since their establishment until now. The beauty of the architecture and the diversity of the details attract the attention of its visitors.
After that, the Encyclopedia team headed to the Ghaf Al-Jawa Center to have lunch with their host, Dr. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Nasser. Then they performed the Asr prayer in the old mosque in the Rawd Al-Jawa Center, which was recently restored. The team also visited the Antarah bin Shaddad rock, known as (Hasat Al-Nasla), which is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the Qassim region, as it symbolizes the story and epic of chaste love between the knight Antarah bin Shaddad and his beloved Ablah, as the rock was a meeting place for them, in addition to what it is distinguished by inscriptions of Thamudic and a unique rock formation.
The Encyclopedia team then headed to the watchtower, the most prominent landmark in the governorate of Uyun al-Jawa, as it is located on the highest point in the governorate and can be seen from it in all the neighborhoods of the governorate and the surrounding towns. It also has a historical dimension as it was a security area used by the people of the village in the past to monitor the surroundings of the village. After that, everyone performed the Maghrib prayer in the King Fahd Mosque and then listened to a detailed explanation about the components of the King Fahd Mosque and Cultural and Social Complex, which include: the King Fahd Mosque, the library, the sports club, the various service halls, the mortuary, and other details. The last stop of the visit was with a guest of Professor Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Assaf at his home.
